Absolute Schlock-Terrible Art. This is an example of when you take two great artists and you combine two of their renderings into one In this case the result is an artistic catastrophe. The first is a masterwork of Gladiators in Rome by the French painter Jean-Leon Gerome titled: ollice Verso (Thumbs Down. The second is a 3D rendering by Alastair Leslie and is a variation from two pictures of historical masterwork quality he did for me titled: Gladiatrix Fighters Death Pit, and We, Who Are About To Die. This variation was never used and as a lark he superimposed a 3D image into the Thumbs Down painting. He sent it to me as a laugh and titled it: Nutty Picture. Adding, I had a moment of madness & used some of the files that were still hanging around, before I deleted them. Whats wrong with this picture Let me count the ways. First: The painting is not as crisp in detail as the 3D rendering. Its obviously an insert. Second: It is done tongue-in-cheek and very campy, and yet there are those who will view this as a serious work. I am sorry to say, especially we Americans. And more, but well keep this to last And worst: The Deviant Art censors will yank it for copyright violation because the original Gerome resides in the Phoenix Art Museum, unless the following is stated: I have permission from Wikipedia to show the painting from Thumbs Down by virtue that it is in the public domain, and in addition they own the image that was used by Alistair to create the uploaded rendering. Also, in addition, the following is from their site on images they own that are in the ublic Domain

How could You miss Pam Grier??? She is not easy to miss!.:-D The film "Arena" was a disappointment like all similar films are. Pam should have killed blonde Markov and so the end of that. No, a lot of crap instead. Most of the girlfighting film are fast cut or dark so You cant see much of the action. When men fight, itīs a different story. Irritating!
These producers and directors are only in it for the money. If they had any passion for the genre, they would come out with great films. That's why the female catfight scene in 'From Russia With Love' is a classic. Those guys knew what they were doing. And cared. Drew.
Ian Fleming was not all pleased and complained to the director whos name I just forgot. He said: nude, biting in the breast and a kick in the groin, how could I ever do that? It was another time, but I doubt someone could do it even today. Time is changing but in some respect, not. I loved the fight when I saw it but reading the book I understand what Fleming ment.
You sure know your history. The director was Terence Young. The producer was Harry Saltzman, who puts on first class productions, like 'The Battle Of Britain'. Drew.
Well, it's not "schock-terrible". It is strange, an unaccustomed sight and combination. But art often is. Maybe if the 3D models had been given an older look (more pixel, another shading etc.), the result would have been more "pleasant" for the eye.
