Eating Leather, by Gavin Michelli. What we have here is a minor masterpiece by a major talent. Minor, as differentiated from some of the epic masterworks Ive uploaded onto the DA Site. For one, is the size of this rendering that is hanging on my wall in my house. It measures 2 feet x 2 feet square Not the big 3 footers of the epics. As any woman will lie, size doesnt matter, and in this case it doesnt. What does matter is compacted in this tight rendering, and visually rings true about the bloody brutality of female boxing, mixed in with tongue-in-cheek humor (look at the snarl on the Blondes face); over-the-top sexuality (forget the bare breasts look at the excited clits that are outlined in the boxing trunks); great attention to detail (the stitching and laces on the boxing gloves); dramatic POV (Point Of View) of not one, but two boxing gloves heading toward the viewers face; and finally the bold colors. I commissioned Gavin to make visual what was in my minds eye and he did it magnificently. Needless to say he does commissions and is a joy to work with. His patience is boundless, which has to be, working with me. Ive never had an artist work for me, I have always tried to have them work with me. This rendering is a perfect example. His Deviant Art Site is: gavinslayer . Well, nuff said. So enjoy. I have. Drew.
What a find! The colors are fantastic - yellow goes with ebony skin and red goes with blondes - well done! The violence of the punch is beautifully evidenced by the black girl's open mouth, bare teeth, flying blood, closed eyes, twisting hair and mangled cheek. This is a KO without doubt and seems to have come as a surprise to the black girl, who seems wide open here. The blonde's snarl suggests that there is some bad blood between these two, that perhaps the black girl delivered a couple poundings to the blonde, winning perhaps by dubious means. But now the blonde gives her her comeuppance, knocking her out cleanly and fairly (though painfully!).
I know that my comment is very late compared to those responding. Here is what I like about this picture....The angle, the rage in the blond's eyes, the blood dripping towards the blond's cleavage, the hard bodies and the nice shaped breasts, the low riding boxing trunks and the exposing of their camel toes.
No, no, no. No one ever comes late to a masterwork, which this is. In our good time each of us will discover that great masterpiece that changed art for the 20th Century for all time, Picasso's 'Les Demoiselles D'Avignon' even if it is via a stateroom scene from the movie 'Titanic'. Your sharp artistic eye picked up everything I and the artist were trying to convey. Even down to the 'camel toes'. Long after the artist and I are both dead, there will be those who will come across this rendering and mutter, 'Oh my God'. Thanks, Drew.
