‘ITB’ = ‘In The Beginning' If there were enough spaces in the title block than it would read: 'In The Beginning – Tis Better To Give Than Receive’. This is the fourteenth in the series: 'In The Beginning'. In the beginning there were only inked black and white illustrations for my first books. Then I changed to artists who used shading, and those renderings were printed in the half-tone technique for later books and booklets. This picture is one of those early ones. What was in my mind's eye was made visual for the first time. I had already written the short novel and wanted to bring it to visual life, so to speak. From the first I intended that everything I wrote would be illustrated. As I said, in the beginning, when I first started publishing illustrated books under the Brand X Publishing name, there were only inked black and white illustrations for those first books. I was concentrating on my writing; the illustrations were only there to give a visual aspect to my prose. This is a prime example. Later I changed to artists who used a multitude of shading techniques, and those renderings were printed in the half-tone technique for later books and booklets. Here is one of those very first works. Upon reflection, after all these years, they still have a power all their own.
