'In The Beginning-The Sixth One'. This is the twenty-third in the series: 'In The Beginning'. In the beginning there were only inked black and white illustrations for my first books. Then I changed to artists who used shading, and those renderings were printed in the half-tone technique for later books and booklets. This picture is the sixth one I had an artist do and it was one of the earliest whereby bare breasts were depicted. What was in my mind's eye was made visual for the first time. I had already written some short novels and wanted to bring them to visual life, so to speak. From the first I intended that everything I wrote would be illustrated. I said, in the beginning, when I first started publishing illustrated books under the Brand X Publishing name, there were only inked black and white illustrations for those first books. I was concentrating on my writing; the illustrations were only there to give a visual aspect to my prose. This is a prime example. Later I changed to artists who used a multitude of shading techniques, and those renderings were printed in the half-tone technique for later books and booklets. Here is one of those very first works. Upon reflection, after all these years, they still have a power all their own.
Just so you know I don't like everything....this pic is just not working. The lines on the lower body look like stripes. The hips, waist and breasts jut don't work together. There is a good attempt at getting at some flurry of blows--the two face punches and the stomach punch all at the same time. BUt overall a confused picture. Cheers.
You're right, not everything works. You can learn almost as much about how to do a great movie by watching a bad one once in a while as to always watching only good ones. This picture was never used in any of my works.
