‘MWBO: Tribute To Frazetta-03’ Rendering by: MkGrr. MWBO = MasterWorks By Others.
This is the title the artist gave this work and is another of a series of renderings I consider ‘Masterworks’ which are not part of my ‘Gallery Of Combative Women’. This one joins those others that were done by other artists who had the power to create great beauty, as well as great beauties.
Except to add, that I did not change the title, except to modify it by adding: ‘MWBO’. What I’m not about to change, nor modify, is my opinion of Mike’s artistic genius.
However, I might add, that what has changed is Mike’s DA Site name. Whereas it was once ‘MkG2k7’, has now been changed to: ‘MkGrr’. I have no idea why he changed it, as the previous DA Site name is just as obscure as the present one. But he is French, so we Americans have to give him some slack for his Frenchness.
Anyway, these works of art are of fine quality (Of which this is an exception because it is a: WIP – Work In Progress). However, for the completed ones, I have asked the various artists for, and received, their permission to include them in my MWBO series. On occasion, and this is one of those occasions, they will be uploaded onto this DA site. Because I do not own these images, I have requested and received, via e-mail or DA ‘Notes’, their written permission to display such works on my ‘DA’ Gallery Site.
Here are Mike’s (the artist) comments from his ‘DA’ Site on this work. He is very technical, as the following will show:
“Title: ‘Tribute To Frazetta-03’. On the previous renders (Frazetta-01 and 02) they were works in progress screen grab from my up-coming picture, ‘Tribute to Frazetta - Primitive Beauty’. I'm a big fan of Frazetta's women, not just his decorative pin-ups, but some of his really strong women. I'll post several screen grabs before ending this one. For this current picture, I’ve finished the props, and next will be making the textures. As well as making some retakes on the head and body with Mudbox.”
Mike did eventually complete this picture and here is the link: [link]
The following is a writeup I did years ago when I first discovered Mike’s work. In the main, it is as apropos to this work as well as the initial upload:
“Starting off this series ‘MasterWorks By Others’, is an artist whom I consider the best in the business. In fact my other series, ‘MasterPieces By Others’ was also begun with this artist. So here he is again. Mike likes to show individual women in various settings, as well as other women (or several women) in various modes of being restrained. So I am going to alternate the singular women with those who are being restrained, meaning tied up in chains or ropes.”
About the artist. He wants to be known as Mike, and is French, and ‘In Deed’ does commissions as well as sell prints of his work. He can be found at his ‘DA’ Site as: MkGrr.
This rendering is a case of showing that artistic genius has a way of taking something that could have been rather mundane and turning it into something exceptional. However, with this work, what he intended to make exceptional, I believe was turned into monumental. Upon close inspection (the detail, the colors, the background, the POV) by any number of viewers, I think they will see this artist went way beyond great. An astute viewer will realize that often this artist will include his tongue-in-cheek sly humor in a picture, combined with his artistic talent to create an image that is so extraordinary in its quality and humor that it gives new meaning to: Stunning.
Oh, by-the-way, he is the one whom I commissioned to do my ‘Stag At Sharkey’s - Redux’.
‘Nuff said. Drew. Again, his MkGrr DA Site can be accessed at the following link: [link] And his MkGrr DA avatar link is:
Honestly it cannot really be effectively critiqued at this point since it is a work in progress. But I will say at this point it is quite stunning. And even though I do like it with her more of a ancient human I would expect Bigger Thighs just because she would need to have powerful legs. And her Butt would be more Robust because that would have attracted Males easier through identification at a distant.I like it's sleekness nonetheless. The plant life looks really good too. I would have opted for sun burned skin and a little dirtier around the feet, calves and knees too. But it is a Resounding Go! In My Book!!
