Pascarelli: ‘You Show Me Yours’. And as the rest of the line continues, “And I’ll show you mine”. As concerns titles, this one is obviously not his. There are times when I take liberties in titling Daniel’s work, and this is one of them; but I take no liberty in admiring his artistic genius. Although this could be the beginning of a serious knockdown/dragout naked katfight, it won’t, and Daniel lets the viewer know it. This is an example of his playful tongue-in-cheek humor. The full name of the artist who did this rendering is Daniel Omar Pascarelli, which is how he wants me to write out the checks I sent to him for commissioned works. In the past I only included one black and white (B&W) illustration of his works on my site, all the rest were in color. Now, in this series that I am presenting of his works, which I’m going to upload at the rate of one per week, they will alternate between B&W and color, or how he spells it – The British way: ‘Colour’. And here is one of the black and white ones. Since he left New York to move back to his native Argentina, I guess he can spell that word any way he wants. Although he is regarded as a ‘Fantasy Artist’, I consider Pascarelli as the finest ‘Catfight’ artist ever. He can create women who are downright menacing – Of which this rendering is a prime example, although in a light-hearted sort of way. However he also can display at the same time his tongue-in-cheek humor in his catfights, which is coupled with terrific painting ability, in both color and detail. Needless to say I consider Daniel in that limited pantheon of fantasy painters, such as: Frazetta, Vallejo, and Achilleos. As concerns the ‘DA’ censors, they contacted me back in September 2009 asking for written confirmation of his permission for me to display his works, in which I complied. This issue of copyrights has always been a sore point with a lot of members of Deviant Art who upload artworks. But there are serious legal and financial penalties that the ‘DA’ Company can be subjected to if they do not show due diligence. I too chafe under these rules, but I understand and comply. Because of the world-wide economy, the art market is rather depressed; but luckily for all of us, Daniel is now accepting painting commissions from private individuals. He can be reached at his (danielpascarelli.com) website [link] or his [link] danielpascarelli.com 'Nuff said. Enjoy. Drew

What's so wonderful about this illustration ..are how their legs are drafted, the exaggerated dynamic of their physiques.
You'd be hard-pressed to get a 3dcg artisan "to think" to modify a 3d figurine this way upon his/ her own.
"Hand and mind" do this. That is the advantage over 3dcg, -you don't have that "instant liberty" to let your mind flow with the forms.. using a computer.

In this case, I agree.

Not ever am I saying 3dcg artisans cannot produce good visual work.

Aside from the computers nature for "perfection", the 3dcg artisan needs to remember to put feeling or "soul" into the 3dcg image. Not just to load it with "technical details".
I sense Pascarelli's feeling for women in viewing any of his works.
His "passion" for them formed into the curvaceous lines he puts down to paper.
In addition, 3dcg artisans need to put in the feeling of the action / power/ struggle depicted of the image into the figurine forms/ physiques so it exudes out to the viewer.
Pascarelli's forms being robust and sensual, are "tense" but never coming off as "brutal".

Well, I must say you put real passion into your excellent writing. In direct reply to what you just wrote, that is why I believe 'Stag At Sharkey's - Redux' is a 21st Century masterpiece; because that Frenchman put both qualities into that picture. In part because he over-rode the 'perfection' portion of the 3D computer in several cases. Example: The extended leg of the left boxer. I asked him to do a computer over-ride on this and he did - wonderfully. 'Nuff said on this. Drew.
